about today. Sunset from my back balconies. Notice the little sliver of moon and Venus below in the last picture. The mountain is Mount Redoubt, an active volcano. Enjoy.
We are actually seriously looking at Alaskan cruises and i am trying for one that gives us two days in Anchorage (and actually begins the land portion to Fairbanks) so I can see these gorgeous sunsets in person. And YOU of course!!Love and huggs
Beautiful country for sure. Lived in Kenai for less than a year and my step brother is still there. Just could not take the cold. Hey, I'm a California born girl. Anything below 75 is chilly.
It's funny, I was just saying to someone today that I need to move to Alaska (the heat here is doing my head in, sending my blood pressure up, and generally not something that I enjoy one little bit). These are so beautiful. I can feel the tranquility flowing out to me even from the photos. Thanks Sherrie
Absolutely stunning, Sherrie! I love winter sunsets. We've had a few nice ones here as well, although I haven't taken any pictures. Perhaps this will inspire me to get out my camera for just such an occasion. On a sort-of related subject: I was reading an article yesterday about a new study researchers are doing on the Northern Lights; they're using NASA satellites across Canada to take pictures and capture other data in order to learn more about the aurora borealis.
Even though we're up here, we rarely see the aurora in Anchorage. When we go out of town though, it is very beautiful. Hope you post those pics when you take them. Hugs, S

I'm pretending like I am.
Donnie was in Anchorage a few times. He thought it was cold. Ok, that's not really what he said. But, I'm cutting back on cursing. heeeheeee
I can't wait! Summer is beautiful too. Love to your sons. S
Believe me, I've cursed this place many times myself! LOL!

That's one stunning view!
I love to visit the Kenai peninsula and have been to Kenai several times. It seems to be a little colder there than in Anchorage. S
I'd be honored. S
Sometimes in the heat of work and problems of everyday life, I forget how fortunate I am to be able to look at beauty like this. S
It's always good to hear from you. Love to your talented daughter and to you. S
I lived in Phoenix and in Texas, so I'm aware of the 40 degree plus heat, so I can relate. Glad I could add some peace to your day. Hugs, Sherrie
